Statement:
The
ROM-BAR is a portable bar/cafe unit with "plug-and-play" utility
hook-ups that are supplemented with rooftop photovoltaics and a rainwater
catchment basin. It concentrates its functions in a compactly programmed
structure and encourages social attraction to itself around its exterior.
It is less a building and more a transportable micro-node that aspires
to give displaced communities and informal setlements some version of
the bar/cafe-as-socialization-center that undisturbed Italian communities
require.
